Development of donor and charitable activities was discussed at the IX Civil Forum

Today, within the framework of the IX Civil Forum of Kazakhstan in an online format, the Donors Forum was held. The meeting of the expert-dialogue platform uniting the largest philanthropists, leaders of corporate social responsibility of Kazakhstan, was attended by Vice Minister of Information and Social Development Bolat Tlepov, President of the ALE "Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan" Banu Nurgazieva and representatives of international organizations, NGOs, foreign private charitable institutions, corporate sector.

“Charity and volunteering have taken on a nationwide scale amid the pandemic. In this regard, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, gave appropriate instructions to support charitable activities to provide convenience and benefits to business in directing funds to charity. The state actively expresses support for the efforts of the civil and international community aimed at creating favorable conditions for achieving long-term development goals and solving the existing pressing social problems of our society. And, as a result of this, the topic of today's forum is aimed at sharing experience, introducing the best world practices into charitable activities in Kazakhstan, ”B. Tlepov said.

The vice minister also noted that the joint efforts of the state, donors, grantmaking organizations, business and NGOs help to overcome difficulties. 2020 is a special year due to the coronavirus pandemic, which caused a widespread crisis in the entire world community and in almost all areas, disrupting the usual life of people and society. During the first wave of the pandemic, civil society, business, international development organizations, and the state actively demonstrated their role. International grant-making and donor organizations have especially shown themselves.

The work of the donor forum is aimed at promoting the development of a professional charitable community and developing recommendations for the development of a favorable environment for strengthening donor and charitable activities.
