The Head of State received Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed of the economic situation of East Kazakhstan region, as well as was introduced to a short-term development plan of the region for the next year, including a set of measures in the sectors of industrial production and agriculture.

The Head of State stressed the need to increase the potential of healthcare in the region and prepare for a possible second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Danial Akhmetov said that on behalf of the President, a stabilization fund has been created, the number of beds in infectious diseases hospitals has been increased 10 times, medical equipment is being purchased for KZT18 billion.

Akim of the region also informed of structural changes in agriculture, implemented measures within the framework of the Employment Roadmap and commissioning of highways Ust-Kamenogorsk - Taldykorgan, Semey - Maikapshagai by the end of October this year.

Additionally, Danial Akhmetov presented the results of work timed to coincide with the celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abai. This year, roads in Semey have been repaired, a school for 300 learners has been built, the pace of housing construction has increased, and the museum complex has been completely renewed.

At the end of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed the importance of timely implementation of the priority directions of the Address to the people of Kazakhstan. The Head of State instructed to ensure the growth of socio-economic indicators of the region and increase the export potential of the agricultural sector.
