Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov made a working visit to Semey

The head of the region got acquainted with the preparations for the 175th anniversary of Abai.

A large-scale reconstruction began on Abai Square. The image of the Square will be completely transformed. The project aims to update curbs, the artistic illumination of the monument to the thinker. There will be playgrounds and sports grounds, parking lots, a fountain. The Contractor Asia Firm LLP promises that all work will be completed by July.

Akim of East Kazakhstan region got familiar with the progress of repair work at the Abai Theater. Projects of the exterior design of the theater and the auditorium were also presented to the regional akim.

The territory of the Abai Museum is to be reconstructed too. It is planned to replace paving slabs, arranging lawns and flower beds. The major update will be the monument to the thinker with his sons.

- This is the first time we want to show Abai surrounded by his closest people - his sons. They look at their great father with love and gratitude. There is no such monument anywhere. We always see Abai as a great philosopher, as a brilliant thinker. Here Abai is surrounded by his family. Here we will show Abai as a person who loves his family, and in the image of his children - the entire Kazakh people”, Danial Akhmetov said.

Akim of East Kazakhstan region instructed to take a responsible attitude to the work, recalling that the events for the anniversary of the thinker should be held at a good level.
