Major overhaul of tram rail tracks started in Ust-Kamenogorsk city

Today, the Head of East Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov inspected the progress of repair work on the streets of the regional center. By the way, this week the Akimat of Ust-Kamenogorsk started major overhaul of the tram rail tracks. It is worth emphasizing that a large-scale reconstruction of these sites has not been carried out for the last 56 years.

For these purposes KZT200 million was allocated. The Head of the region inspected the work that is underway on Abai and Shakarim Avenues. According to the contractor, the sleepers and the tracks themselves will be updated. And also, it is necessary to replace 10 sets of track switches and reconstruct all crossings. According to the regional akim, after the tram fleet became the state property they carried out a deep analysis of the state of all rail tracks and the trams. Currently, the City Akimat increased the number of run trams from 5 to 17.

- Now, in the context of restrictive measures, we have a good opportunity to repair our streets. Especially on weekends, when the flow of vehicles is reduced by 70 percent. All that we do in the regional center will be done in Semey. In accordance with the order of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, KZT75 billion has been allocated for our region. These funds will be primarily aimed at improving the quality of social facilities and healthcare facilities, education, as well as the improvement of all settlements”, Danial Akhmetov said.

During the working trip, the regional akim got acquainted with the progress of construction work on the average repair of Kabanbai Batyr street in the area of the central market, where two right turns will be built. According to Akim of Ust-Kamenogorsk Zhaksylyk Omar, this year seven new separately assigned right turns will operate in the city.

A separate bus lane will appear in the area of Ushanov Square. According to Sergei Kovalenko, the Head of Road Technical Inspection Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk Police Department, the traffic way on the site along Nazarbayev

Avenue in the area of Ushanov Square will be expanded. This is aimed at road safety. All young conifers that grow near the road will be planted in other places.

- There will be four lanes for vehicles. There will also be another fifth separate lane for public transport. To do this, we are forced to slightly reduce the central island of the ring from all sides”, said Sergey Kovalenko.

Akim of the region visited Yaroslavskaya street in Menovnoe settlemnet. The road will be doubled here. Already this month they plan to lay asphalt and complete all work.

In the near future Chekhov Street will also be expanded and the right turn will be added. According to City Akim Zhaksylyk Omar, the leadership of the Orthodox Church requested the Akimat of the city to transfer the historical and cultural monument to the territory next to the church.

Danial Akhmetov noted that all movements of objects significant for the city should be carried out in agreement with the public. In addition, he instructed to give the initial view to the houses built at the beginning of the last century. This applies to the house, which is located at the intersection of Chekhov and M. Gorky Streets, as well as the building next to the Friendship House on Nazarbayev Avenue.

- All objects of historical importance have to get their original appearance. We will allocate funds. At the same time, all advertising structures and banners should be removed from them, the regional akim emphasized.

The Head of the region also visited the construction of four 12-storyed and five 19-storyed residential buildings on the left bank. Danial Akhmetov noted that all modern objects typical for large cities will be concentrated in this microdistrict.

- Nothing does not stop in our region in connection with the current situation. On the contrary, we are accelerating the pace of construction and industrial production. Despite the difficulties, our region, like the whole country, must do everything possible in order to quickly overcome this medical crisis and emerge stronger from the crisis, Danial Akhmetov said.
