Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov made a working trip to Semey city

During the trip, the Head of the region got acquainted with the work of the Adal store chain, the progress of the Abai Theater’s repair and reconstruction of the Central Park.

Akim of East Kazakhstan region gave a positive mark to the work of the supermarket. Since April 2, the City Akimat, jointly with Adal store chain and Adal-farm pharmacies, organized the delivery of the necessities to elderly and people with disabilities. They can simply call the multi-channel telephone number 52-12-12 and make an order. The volunteers of the Youth Resource Center will deliver a package of food and medicine to the address indicated. An order can be placed once a week. Call center specialists accept applications from 7.00 a.m. till 19.00 p.m. daily. From the second of April till now, experts have accepted and processed more than 1,200 applications. 

The Abai Theater is under repair to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the thinker. According to the director of the theater Yakov Gorelnikov, funds for repairs were allocated in September last year, due to these funds they updated the stands with photos of theater artists on the ground floor which was whitewashed and painted too, and strengthened the fire safety measures. They purchased modern sound and lighting equipment.

- “Such a grandiose repair in our theater has not been made  for a long time. Funds were allocated for current and cosmetic repairs. Now there will be great changes. This year, KZT190 million was allocated from the regional budget for the overhaul of the theater. The roof, a facade will be repaired with stairs reconstructed and the territory improved”, said Yakov Gorelnikov. - The repair is under tight control by Akim of the region, Akim of the city, and the Regional Culture Administration. By the 175th anniversary of Abai, the most significant events will be held in our theater, and we must meet the guests fully equipped.

There will also be changes inside the theater. The lobby of the second floor will be updated too. The auditorium will also be transformed. By the anniversary of Abai, the theater artists will perform on the updated stage; currently, workers are installing new cover. The backstage will be updated too - there will be a repair of dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, the administrative rooms.

The creative staff of the theater, due to the introduced emergency mode, is compelled to go on vacation. But the work is underway. In 15 days, viewers will see the theatrical performance of Revisor online.

Akim of the region Danial Akhmetov recommended that they carefully consider the color image of the theater.

- There is no need to choose gray colours. Only restrained colors, follow the colour scale. Pay attention to small things - parapets, the design of metal barriers. We will hold an international scientific and practical conference here, so I hope that the design issue will be resolved in the near future”, Danial Akhmetov said.

The last object he visited was the Central Park, where reconstruction is currently underway, as well as the site for the future construction of a pedestrian street. It should be improved in three months on a segment of Mugilik El Street from Ibrayev Street.

- Young people who are going to walk here should not think how beautiful it is abroad - it is in our power to do all this here, at home. These three hundred meters should be exactly the same as in Europe. It needs to be done, we have funds for this purpose”, said Danial Akhmetov.

By July 1, the pedestrian street will appear in Semey. He instructed the local authorities to develop an interesting modern design.

- People should feel the change in the atmosphere. Try any design decisions. By July 1, the street needs to be improved”, the regional akim instructed.

Having examined the Central Park, Danial Akhmetov asked about the deadlines of the reconstruction. By June 1, the park should be ready.

Following the working trip, Danial Akhmetov addressed the residents of the region in an interview with reporters:

- If we want to save our children and grandchildren, to enjoy their happiness, then we should observe the strictest isolation. I look with satisfaction at a significant reduction in the number of vehicles, but it needs to be reduced even more. I ask each resident - it is better to do it when you do it yourself. We have chosen the right technique. Keep self-isolating, this is the only cardinal method to prevent the coronavirus.
