I held a meeting with the chief physicians of our hospitals, specialists of the health department and the Semey Medical University. We discussed the possibility of introducing high-tech medical procedures (VTMP) in the clinics of East Kazakhstan region. The University Administration has done a lot of work - at the moment we can carry out 38 additional types of VTMP in various areas of healthcare. First of all, this is transplantology, now we have 266 people on the waiting list for organ transplantation, 244 of them need kidney transplantation. Thanks to new technologies, we will be able to carry out such operations here, and people will not have to travel abroad. It is also possible to introduce an additional 7 types of VTMP in neurosurgery, in particular, it concerns spinal surgery. Our pediatric cardiac surgeons and oncologists will master new types of operations. As for hematology, everyone knows that stem cell transplantation technology is widely used in the world for the treatment of coronary heart disease, liver cirrhosis and other serious diseases. A hematology center is being built in the region, on the basis of which a laboratory will work, where scientists and students will be able to conduct their research.
In gynecology, we plan to increase the number of IVF operations, in recent years their number has grown from 10 to 800 (this is only according to quotas). VTMP will also be used in orthopedics, traumatology, otorhinolaryngology. This will allow us to bring our medicine to a new stage of development. I have instructed to develop a roadmap that will clearly describe what and in which hospitals will be implemented, what equipment needs to be purchased additionally, and which of the doctors will go to study in the world's best clinics.
We have equipped our hospitals and medical centers with the most advanced and high-quality equipment, now we need to reach a new level.
