Rescuers of East Kazakhstan Region changed their uniforms to zombie costumes. A real challenge aimed at drawing attention to compliance with safety measures during the heating period was launched in the region. During preventive raids and briefings in the residential sector, in order to avoid cases of carbon monoxide poisoning and fires, specialists of the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan region dressed in zombies told how dangerous it is not to repair the furnace on time and violate fire safety rules.
"Zombies" - symbolize the condition of people and owners after poisoning with dangerous gas during improper operation of furnaces. In order for the raid to be useful, the employees of the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan Region used a special device - a gas analyzer, with the help of this equipment, the concentration of carbon monoxide was checked in the houses.
The Emergency Department of the East Kazakhstan Region explained that this costumed action, the challenge was not organized by chance, when working with the population, it is not always possible to verbally convey the meaning of how to take the problem of carbon monoxide poisoning seriously, so visual examples and bright costumes went into the "course". The inspectors of the state fire control used the interest of citizens in such an unusual approach for their preventive purposes.
Rescuers of the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan Region hope that not the statistics of accidents and accidents, but their creative approach will eradicate the problem of carbon monoxide poisoning of the population during the operation of furnaces.
During the last heating period, 90 people were injured in East Kazakhstan, since the beginning of the first cold snap in the region, 3 people have suffered from poisoning.
Rescuers warn that in order to save their lives, the following rules must be observed when operating furnaces:
- chimneys, chimneys and other elements of heating furnaces are cleaned of soot immediately before the start, as well as during the heating season at least once every three months – for heating furnaces, at least once every two months - for continuous furnaces;
- in attics and in rooms in which smoke ducts pass, all chimneys and walls are whitewashed;
- there should be a metal pre-heating sheet of 50* 70 cm in size in front of the heating furnace;
-the red-hot ash and slag after raking from the furnaces are removed to a specially designated place for them and spilled with water.
An important factor in the safe operation of furnace heating is the correct device of the heating furnace. So, the heating furnace must have a fire-fighting cutting (deviation) from combustible structures established by the norms.
