As part of the upcoming Day of the Rescuer of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the work of the Museum of Emergency Situations of East Kazakhstan Region has been activated. Since the beginning of 2021, the museum (fire and technical center) has been visited by more than 500 people, 34 excursions have been conducted. It contains more than 3,000 different exhibits demonstrating the history, development and current state of fire and emergency services.
Expositions are deployed in 3 large halls, there are 272 pieces from the collection of badges, 85 cars of different models of fire trucks. In the main hall there are fire extinguishing equipment, physical evidence from real fires, mannequins dressed in rescue suits. The museum fund includes various rarities: fire helmets, trunks, equipment of firefighters. The collection of materials for the museum center began a long time ago, even before the opening of the center, which took place in 1986.To date, the museum has received more than 137 thousand visitors.
The museum is headed by KozhakanovaKulmiraKhadzhievna, she conducts excursions, tells visitors about the history of the creation of firefighters and units, extinguishing methods, protective equipment and safety rules, demonstrates educational films, conducts educational lectures, and also organizes special events to familiarize with the center.
A special hall is dedicated to exhibits with professional equipment of rescuers, divers, medics, mountain climbers and parachutists, dog handlers, emergency service doctors and firefighters, beloved by children and schoolchildren. When schoolchildren come, they traditionally try on combat suits and firemen's helmets.
During the pandemic, excursions were conducted through online broadcasts. In the halls of the museum of Emergency Situations of East Kazakhstan region there are always visitors - schoolchildren, students, employees of enterprises and institutions. Many come for the fourth or fifth time.
The most unusual exhibits in the museum is a unique piece of antiquity - a manual piston pump for firefighting needs, 1934, which was found by firefighters in the city of Altai.
Another important panorama is a monument to the fighters of the fiery front who died in the line of duty. In 1993, in the city of Semey, there was a large fire at a cement plant, fighters Ikenov R.T. and Belonozhko V.V. together with others participated in extinguishing. Suddenly, the roof collapsed on them, and they received injuries incompatible with life. The name of Sergei Belyakin is also in the memory of every firefighter who died while extinguishing a forest fire that occurred in May 2002 in the forestry.
Among the last honored guests of the museum are the Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yuri Ilyin, UN specialists, volunteers from Germany, firefighters from the USA.
It is noteworthy that the museum premises are located in the same building with the fire station No. 6 of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, so excursions always continue with a visit to the part where visitors get acquainted with the everyday life and the service of firefighters with great interest. Children are delighted with the opportunity to try on combat clothes, visit the control room, sit behind the wheel of a fire truck and learn the basics of the rules of conduct in case of fire.
