The Head of State received Akim of East Kazakhstan region

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard the report by Danial Akhmetov on the region’s socio-economic situation, the President's press service reported.

“Akim of East Kazakhstan region stressed that the output, in particular, the physical growth index amounted to 5%, investments in fixed assets increased by more than 5%. The growth of indicators has been achieved in agriculture and construction.

Moreover, the meeting considered the prospects for the further development of the economy. In particular, they discussed the completion of the second stage of the Aktogai Metallurgical Complex, thereby doubling the production capacity of this facility.

The President was informed of the region's efforts to back to the traditional format of education. The staff of educational institutions has been vaccinated. In general, the rate of vaccination in the region is 10,000 people per day. By the end of September, the vaccine-eligible population of the region will be vaccinated with the first jab, and by the end of October - with the second jab. In total, it is planned to vaccinate 747,000 residents of East Kazakhstan region.

Danial Akhmetov also informed the Head of State of the progress of implementing the instructions in the mass sports development. KZT 890 million was additionally allocated to further support of school sports. Today, over 50% of schoolchildren have the opportunity to go in for sports. This year, it is planned to complete the construction of 15 large sports facilities.
