Danial Akhmetov inspected construction activities in Semey city

Akim of East Kazakhstan region once again made a working trip to Semey city. First of all, the head of the region inspected the progress of school construction in Stepnoy and Vostochny microdistricts.

While visiting the construction sites, Danial Akhmetov saw that the construction of important social facilities was well underway. A school in Stepnoy for 300 school students will be commissioned on a turnkey basis by the end of the year. This means that already from the third quarter, students will sit at their desks in the new educational institution. There was no school in Stepnoy before and children had to go 10 kilometers to get knowledge.

“I would like to note that along with the construction of this social facility, we are simultaneously solving the communal problem of the district. The heating main that we are building to the school will also solve the problem of heat supply of Stepnoy multi-storied buildings. Central heating will be provided to residents this year,” said the head of the region.

A school for 1200 students is being built in Vostochny microdistrict. It will also be put into service by the end of the year. Finishing work will begin in the short run. During the construction, the authorities had problems with energy supply, heat, and water supply, but all of them have already been solved to date.

“It’s the long-awaited school. Two of the existing ones are overcrowded, as the microdistrict is growing dynamically. The construction of a new educational institution will help unload them. Today I gave the task to Education Department of Semey city to study the need for new places. If there is such a need, we are ready to build another typical school for 600 children,” Akim said.

Also during the working trip Danial Akhmetov inspected the progress of reconstruction of the boiler house “Center”. Renovation work is 75% complete there. An extension is currently under construction, where another boiler will be installed. Thus, the capacity of the boiler house will be increased up to 84 Gcal.

The builders assured that by the Power Engineer Day – by December, 26 - the facility will be put into operation. Reconstruction of boiler houses of Semey city is under the personal control of the regional akim, the works are to solve the main problems related to heat supply of the city.

Also, the head of the region visited Beibitshilik island, where the deputy akim of Semey city Dimitry Garikov presented a project for its improvement. Moreover, the head of the region visited the Perinatal Center and got acquainted with the results of the overhaul. After visiting the facilities, Danial Akhmetov held a meeting on repairing city roads, improving the Central Park of Semey city, preparing for the winter heating season and planning housing construction in 2022.
