East Kazakhstan region is a leader in the milk and meat production
At the VII session of the Regional Maslikhat, the head of the region Danial Akhmetov spoke about the rural agro-industrial complex development of East Kazakhstan region. In particular, he stressed that the region is successfully fulfilling the instructions of Elbasy and the President on increasing the deep processing of agricultural products.
“The region is doing a lot of work to consolidate the success in the production of oilseeds, as well as oil seed rape, soybeans and corn. Sown areas are being diversified, two oil extraction plants are being built to solve the processing issues. Farmers no longer need to think about where to deliver sunflower, these products already have their own customers. The production of other types of oil will begin soon,” said Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov.
In animal breeding, systematic work is underway to increase the amount of production and processing. Further development of this sector and increasing the breeding-stock requires additional fodder, pastures and feedlots. For these purposes, a detailed and systematic analysis of unused lands is now being carried out with their subsequent withdrawal and transfer to those peasant farms that need pastures and lands.
“The region is among leaders in the meat and milk production. To resolve the issue of fodder, work is being carried out to withdraw unused pasture land. It is pleasant that some entrepreneurs are already voluntarily returning the land lots which are not used for their intended purposes,” said the head of the region.
Furthermore, he said that preparations are ongoing in Ust-Kamenogorsk city to build a Wholesale Distribution Center for storing and selling grown agricultural products without intermediaries and dealers.
There will be warehouses, cross-docks, trade pavilions, a hotel for drivers of lorries. Police and customs officers will be on duty in the WDC, it will also be possible to process all the necessary documents, carry out examinations and get quality certificates for the products sold.
Construction of the WDC will allow local authorities to fight unrealistically high prices for products of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic and the region.
