Video surveillance and alarm buttons to be installed in all schools of East Kazakhstan region - Danial Akhmetov

Danial Akhmetov held a meeting of East Kazakhstan regional akimat to consider a set of important issues of the development of the region. In particular, the meeting discussed new projects in the agricultural sector. In East Kazakhstan region, agricultural production is on the rise, including the areas under oilseeds, because farmers know that they have end consumers for the raw materials they produce - two large oil extraction plants in Semey cityand in Predgornoye settlement of Gluboky district.

At the same time, the sector has a problem with pasture lands. Akim recalled that recent changes in the legislation allow local executive agencies to seize unused rangelands and transfer them to those who really need them.

The second very important issue is the availability of preschool education. East Kazakhstan region is the only region in Kazakhstan where the queue for kindergartens for children aged from 3 to 6 has been completely eliminated. But there is still a queue at the nursery for the youngest ones in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey. “Now we need to solve the issues regarding nursery gardens. Within 10 days, all akims of cities and districts will develop a plan and study the need. Next year we will start building new facilities within the framework of PPP,” the Head of the region stressed.

Touching upon the topic of preparing schools for the new academic year, Danial Akhmetov noted that repairs will be completed in all 647 secondary schools of the region by August 19. Now the modernization of offices and canteens is underway, video surveillance and alarm buttons will be installed in all educational institutions. By September 1, all schools will be provided with the necessary fuel supply. At the same time, the regional akim considers that the work on the organization of extracurricular activities is insufficient. He said that only 114 hobby groups and sections work in East Kazakhstan region. “This is not enough. We need all our children to go in for sports,” Danial Akhmetov said. Also during the meeting, they discussed the implementation of important infrastructure projects, considered the issues of youth employment, organization and holding of IT forums and hackathons.
