Akim of East Kazakhstan region held a meeting of the Regional Commission on work with large and low-income families. The event summed up the results for the first half of the year and outlined the tasks for the upcoming period. Thanks to the constructive cooperation of government agencies and public organizations of the region, good results were achieved in the field of social security for large and low-income families. Thus, East Kazakhstan region is the leader in the Republic in terms of the rate of housing provision for large families. 9,000 out of 18,000 such families got houses. At the moment, the region started to issue certificates for the purchase of housing under the Bakytty Otbasy Program. This step will enable many families to solve the housing problem according to their preferences. Children from low-income and large families are granted free-of-charge catering and uniforms. Students from such families study at universities and colleges on grants. Parents do not pay for catering in preschool institutions. During the pandemic, nearly 2,000 families received additional computers for distance learning. Now, during the summer holidays, almost 2,000 children are provided with free tickets to the holiday camps. A good project with the support of entrepreneurs launched in Ust-Kamenogorsk is the Shagyrak Card, according to which large families receive discounts when visiting shops, pharmacies, medical institutions, etc. It was also noted that due to the improvement of legislation and comprehensive support measures in East Kazakhstan region, over the past 2 years, the number of TSA recipients has been halved. During the same time, about 2,000 families received grants to start their own business. These indicators, according to Danial Akhmetov, were achieved thanks to the active onsite work of the members of Public Commissions and effective management decisions based on the opinions and suggestions of the target audience. The head of the region emphasized that in East Kazakhstan region the Initiative Group has developed a guidebook for large and low-income families to receive government services and grants. This is a step-by-step algorithm of actions that will help many ones to start their own business. “The issues of medical care for large and low-income families remain crucial. I gave the task to the Healthcare Administration to consider in detail the issues of providing medicines, timely medical assistance and rehabilitation services for children from such families. Moreover, each akim of the city and district must organize the distribution of housing certificates among large and low-income families. In this regard, I focus on the fact that mothers with many children must be included in each commission on housing distribution,” Danial Akhmetov stressed, summing up the results of the meeting.
