There will be no flights to Urjar this season

Since April 19, the airport will be closed for large-scale reconstruction, but the number of train and bus routes will be increased for tourists.

The head of the region, Danial Akhmetov, as part of his working trip to Urjar district, got acquainted with the progress of the air harbor repair. Now the runway is being reconstructed by a company that already has experience in similar work. Unfortunately, the previous contractor did not fulfill the contractual obligations, therefore it was not possible to put into service the facility on schedule.

Initially, it was proposed to build a temporary landing strip not to stop flights, but its cost would have amounted to KZT5.6 billion, while repairing the existing strip would cost a billion less. Akim of the region decided not to waste the state budget, as it is inappropriate. Together with Danial Akhmetov, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee arrived at the Urjar airport, who assured that the Committee would send its specialists to help reconstruct the airport building and make terminals safe and comfortable for passengers.

- Since Monday the airport will be closed, construction work will be carried out in three shifts, simultaneously in the terminal, other buildings and structures and, of course, at the main facility - the runway, - said Danial Akhmetov. - The facility is under my personal control, in two weeks I will come again and see how the construction is going. For tourists who plan to come to the coast of Alakol this year, additional train and bus routes will be organized.
