Akim of East Kazakhstan region inspected a major overhaul of the Oncology and Surgery Center of East Kazakhstan region

Today Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov inspected the progress of the modernization of the surgery block, the intensive care unit, mammology and gynecology division, as well as the sterilization department of East Kazakhstan region of the Multidisciplinary Center of Oncology and Surgery. The

reconstruction is planned to be completed by the end of March this year. During the working trip, the head of the region checked the Oncology and Surgery Center of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, which has been under modernization since last July.

To date, construction and installation work has been completed by 95%.

Recall that modernization works are taking place in the second building of the Oncology Center. The surgery block and the central sterilization department were moved from the first floor to the fifth. A 128-slice CT scan and a Signa Architect 3.0 T MRI are purchased to install there enabling to diagnose oncological diseases for the most accurate diagnosis extremely precise. Also, now, preparatory work is underway to install a linear accelerator, which carries out all types of external radiation therapy and radiosurgical interventions using the same technological base.

As part of the inspection, Danial Akhmetov made several remarks that must be eliminated before the facility is put into service.

“Generally, everything is fine,” said Akim of East Kazakhstan region Danial Akhmetov. - Wall panels need to be redone. They should be normally stable, without sounds of emptiness. The same applies to medical homogeneous linoleum, it needs to be redone. At the end of March, I will come with another check.

It should be noted that within the framework of the regional comprehensive Program, 37 specialists of Ust-Kamenogorsk Oncology Center passed training courses in the best oncological clinics of the world - Great Britain, France, Italy, Israel, Turkey. Also, this year, six more specialists will be trained to operate the linear accelerator.
