Kassym-Jomart Tokayev:
"Nowadays, the main key to development is education. We must educate a creative generation that is as prone to the challenges of the time as possible, and also wants a bright future with their own hands. According to the PISA international study, over the past 10 years, our country has not risen from the fifties to the sixties among 80 countries in terms of the quality of secondary education. So the situation is not because of us.
One of the main problems is the one–sided assessment of children's knowledge. In the country, the emphasis is not on the quality of education, but on a high indicator. The grades received by students on the Unified National Testing and grades at school differ. The difference can be 30 percent or more. Such a gap is also observed in international and National assessments. Frankly speaking, all this is happening because of mass upheavals. You're kidding yourself.
It is necessary to think about how to objectively evaluate the knowledge gained at school. At the same time, it is not possible to create a new agency or a testing, certification and certification center. We've been through this. It is also a source of corruption risks. Therefore, the Government should give its authority in this regard"
"Another problem that should be paid attention to is the safety of the younger generation. Terrible crimes against children have become more frequent. Such events take place at school, on the street and even at home. Poor conditions have caused suicides of schoolchildren.
Even the parents themselves mock their child, and his back becomes tragic. The work to prevent domestic violence is weak. The activities of responsible institutions and law enforcement agencies did not give a successful result. We need to review the policy of preventing domestic violence.
Measures to protect the rights of women and children should be strengthened by law. Special attention should be paid to the promotion of family values. I warn you once again that it will be difficult for us to become one of the developed countries if we do not ensure security in society, on the street and even in every home. We must create a safe society in which our citizens will move freely."
