The Department for the Investigation of Transport Accidents and Incidents is a structural division of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It conducts investigations into aviation, railway, and maritime accidents and incidents that affect transport safety in the country.
The Department operates in accordance with the Constitution, laws, and legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and follows the standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and other relevant international bodies.
Key areas of activity:
- Investigation of aviation accidents and incidents;
- Investigation of railway and maritime transport accidents;
- Cooperation with international and national authorities;
- Development of safety recommendations and preventive measures;
- Participation in the improvement of regulatory legal acts.
The Department includes two divisions:
- Division for Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents;
- Division for Investigation of Railway and Maritime Transport Accidents.
