Department of justice of Kostanay region held a briefing

The intellectual property rights division Of the Department of justice of Kostanay region together with representatives of the Department of internal Affairs and the Department of state revenue, held a briefing on the results of work in the field of intellectual property rights protection for 2018.

  During the event, representatives of law enforcement agencies, justice agencies announced information on criminal and administrative cases, as well as on the facts of the suspension of goods in the field of intellectual property rights for 2018:

- The Department of justice of Kostanay region conducted 12 inspections for compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the use of trademarks. 7 administrative cases were initiated under article 158 of the administrative Code of Kazakhstan, 7 persons were brought to administrative responsibility, 237 units of counterfeit products worth more than 700 000 tenge were withdrawn from civil turnover.More than 350 000 tenge was collected in the state revenue by court orders in the form of penalties.

- The Department of state revenue of Kostanay region in ERDR registered under article 198 of the criminal code - 1 criminal case, terminated in connection with the reconciliation of the parties on the basis of fully compensated damage to the rightholder.Under the customs control 3 cases of suspension of the release of goods containing intellectual property.

- Police Department of Kostanay region in ERDR registered under Art. 198 of the criminal code - 4 criminal cases, 3 cases were terminated on non-rehabilitating grounds, 1 case in production.

This event was held in order to improve positions on the indicator "protection of intellectual property" of the WEF GIC.
