First Intellectual Property Cooperation Forum Central Asia - China held in Urumqi

From 24 to 26 July 2023, the Kazakh delegation took part in the first Forum on cooperation in the field of intellectual property Central Asia - China.

This event is aimed at the implementation of a new plan to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation, as well as the construction of the project «Belt, Road», developed by the summit «Central Asia - China», held in May 2023 with the participation of heads of states (Sihan, China).

The Forum, organized by the National Intellectual Property Administration of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of the XUAR with the support of WIPO, was attended by the heads of departments and departments of intellectual property of the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and China.

One of the main issues on the agenda of the Forum was the adoption of a joint statement on intellectual property. The purpose of the joint statement is to deepen cooperation between the Central Asian countries and China in the field of intellectual property by advocating the concept of mutual respect, solidarity and mutual benefit, enhancing regional innovation potential, Stimulating market vitality, developing even closer cooperation between China and Central Asia, and establishing a mechanism for regular meetings of heads of intellectual property agencies.

The Dialogue Platform aims to strengthen mutual trust between the Central Asian countries and China, and to promote international and practical cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
