On 19 May 2022, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan 897 «On Amendments to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 25, 2020 No. 457 «On Signing the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases dated August 9, 1994» was adopted (hereinafter - the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

The Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was developed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and provides for amendments to the previously adopted Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 25, 2020 No. 457 «On signing the Protocol on Amending the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, family and Criminal Cases dated August 9, 1994» in connection with the change of the official authorized to sign the Protocol.

The Protocol is aimed at changing the procedure for notification of the designated central bodies of the Parties, according to which the Parties will notify each other about the designated central bodies, their functions and contact details through diplomatic channels.
