Venice Commission informed on progress in introducing administrative justice in Kazakhstan

Olzhas Danabekov, Director of the Legislation Department of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the 120th plenary session of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), which was held from October 11 to 12, 2019 in Venice.

In the plenary session, Olzhas Danabekov made a report in which the measures taken aimed at the successful implementation of the reform in the field of administrative justice were noted.

Now the draft Code is under consideration in the Mazhilis of the Parliament.

Following the review, the Commission emphasized that the draft Code was an important step in establishing clear rules in the field of administrative justice.

Recall, in his message to the people, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted the need for the introduction of administrative justice, as a special mechanism for resolving disputes between authorities and citizens.

It is worth noting that the concept of the draft Administrative Procedure Code was approved by the Venice Commission last year, where it was presented by the Minister of Justice Marat Beketaev.
