The IX International Forum «Anti-Counterfeiting-2021» was held

On August 26-27, 2021, the International Forum «Anti-Counterfeit-2021» was held in the city of Nur-Sultan. The organizers are the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Association «Anti-Counterfeit».

The Forum's focus audience was organized by representatives of the World Intellectual Property Organization, state bodies, departments and organizations of the EAEU member States, the business community, the creative industry, market places, as well as international experts and copyright holders.

The plenary session was attended by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Smailov, Vice Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Akhmetova, Member of the Board (Minister) for Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission R. Beketayev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office S. Tlevlesova, President of the International Association «Anti-Counterfeit» A. Aslakhanov and others.

The eventful two-day business program of the forum included 10 discussion sessions devoted to the problems related to the illegal turnover of industrial products, the distribution of counterfeit and falsified goods, both on the Kazakh market and in general, on the markets of the EAEU.

Among the topics of the Forum, a special place was taken by the discussion of the problems of various aspects of counterfeit products: protection of intellectual property rights on the Internet, the pharmaceutical industry, issues of certification, labeling and others. The Forum participants also discussed the protection of patent rights for medicines in the EEA member states, access to medicines, as well as maintaining a Register of drugs with pharmacological activity of active substances protected by a patent for an invention.

Within the framework of the Forum, the Third International Youth Forum «Anti-Counterfeit» was held, during which issues of promoting an intolerant attitude to the production and turnover of counterfeit products, the potential of existing youth organizations to combat counterfeit, the development of the youth movement «Anti-Counterfeit-M» to strengthen the social activity of young people to counter illegal trafficking of products and others were discussed.

The Forum participants took an active part in the discussions of the above issues, and also noted the high level of discussions and the multi-sectoral focus of the thematic sessions.
