Experts discussed issues related to the protection of unregistered industrial designs

On June 29, 2021, an online seminar on the topic «Protection of unregistered industrial designs», organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held.

The purpose of the seminar is to study the experience of the European Union countries on the protection of unregistered industrial designs.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the European Commission, the European Patent Office, the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), the Eurasian Patent Office, as well as state bodies of Kazakhstan, judges and patent attorneys of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the online seminar, international experts familiarized the participants with best international practice on the issues of unregistered industrial designs protection in the European Union, the regional system of legal protection of industrial designs on the territory of the member states of the Eurasian Patent Organization.

In addition, the representative of the RSE «National Institute of Intellectual Property» presented a report on the topic: «Legal protection of industrial designs in the Republic of Kazakhstan».

Participants of the seminar took an active part in discussion and have received answers to related questions.
