The first meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on the consideration of requests and views of human rights treaty bodies
On April 27, 2022, under the chairmanship of the Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akerke Akhmetova, the first meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on the consideration of requests and views of human rights treaty bodies, whose competence has been recognized by the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the IWG), was held.
During the meeting of the IWG, the considerations adopted by the UN Human Rights Committee regarding Zh. Suleymenov's communication No. 2146/2012 were considered.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office, the National Security Committee, the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Labor and Social Protection, Health, Finance, Information and Public Development, as well as the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova.
The results of the review will be announced by June 20, 2022, on the website of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
