Among food products, in December 2024, compared with November 2024, an increased in prices for fructs and vegetables by 4,2% (onions–by 13,4%, white cabbage–by 1,4%, potatoes–by 1,3%, beets–by 1%, carrot–by 0,6%, apple–by 0,5%), oils and fats–by 1,7% (sunflower oil–by 3,2%, butter unsalted–by 1,3%), alcoholic beverages–by 1,4%, dairy products–by 1,3%(hard cheese–by 2,1%, sour cream–by 1,4%, milk pasteurized–by 0,9%, kefir 2,5%–by 0,3%, cottage cheese 5-9%–by 0,1%), fish and seafood–by 1,3%, bakery products–by 1,1%(wheat bread from flour of the first grade–by 4,3%, wheat flour of the highest grade–by 0,4%), tobacco products–by 0,8%, eggs of the 1st category), confectionery products–by 0,5%, tea–by 0,3%, rice, pasta products–by 0,1%.

Sugar granulated became cheaper by 1%, cereals–by 0,1% (buckwheat groats–by 0,2%, semolina–by 0,1%).

Of non-food products increased the price of liquefied gas (in cylinders)–by 9,3%, clothing and footwear–by 0,9%, materials for maintenance and repair of residential premises–by 0,4%, pharmaceutical products–by 0,2%, gasoline–by 0,1%.

Personal goods decreased–by 0,2%.

For paid services, increased hot water–by 13,1%, housing rental–by 3%, catering service–by 2%, services of hairdressing salons and personal service establishments–by 0.4%,

Methodological explanations

The consumer price index (CPI), which characterizes the level of inflation, shows the change in prices for goods and services purchased by the population for personal consumption. The set of goods and services includes 508 items. Prices are registered using a selective network of trade and service enterprises of various forms of ownership in the regional center and a certain circle of cities and district centers. The system of weights used for aggregation in terms of their expenses is calculated on the basis of household survey materials for the previous year. Since January 2022, when building the CPI, the share of food products is 40,7%, non–food products – 30,2%, paid services–29,1%.
