On the sale of goods and services in Abay region
In January-October2024, according to operational data, retail trade turnover increased by 10.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 460.8 billion tenge.
In the republican volume of retail turnover, the Abay region occupies the 10thplace, the share of retail turnover in the republican volume was 2.7%.
The main volume of retail trade was provided by individuals trading in the markets and carrying out individual trading activities. Their trade turnover amounted to 61.7% of the retail turnover of the region and increased by 19.4% compared to January-October2023.
The volume of trading enterprises increased by 11.2% compared to the corresponding period last year and amounted to 38.2% of the retail turnover of the region.
In the total volume of retail trade, 73.4% are non-food products, 26.6% are food products.
The largest volume of sales falls on the city of Semey – 351.1 billion tenge, or 76.1% of the turnover of the region. Ayagoz district accounts for 5.8%, Zharma district – 4.7%, Urzhar district – 2.5% ,Borodulikha district-2.5%. The share of other regions ranges from 2.3% (Kurchatov) to 1.0% (Abay district) , 1.0% (Kokpekti district) ,1.4% (Beskaragai district) , 1.0% (Makanchy district) ,1.7% (Aksuat district).
The volume of wholesale trade in January-October2024 amounted to 290.2 billion tenge, or 114.1 % compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the structure of wholesale trade, non-food products and industrial and technical products account for 71.1%, food products – 28.9%.

Wholesale trade - entrepreneurial activity for the sale of goods intended for subsequent sale or other purposes not related to personal, family, household and other similar use.
