The results of the work of the industry of the Abay region 2023

The result of industrial production in 2023 was an increase in the physical volume of industrial products compared to the same indicator in 2022.

Industrial enterprises and industries produced products (goods, services) worth 1597.2 billion tenge, which amounted to 3.4% of the national production volume. The index of industrial production was estimated at 104.3% compared to the level of 2023.

In the structure of industrial production of the region, the largest share (64%) belongs to the mining industry and quarry development. The manufacturing industry occupies 33.0%, the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air–conditioned air – 2.5%, water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities – 0.5%.

In the mining industry and quarrying in 2023, 1022.2 billion tenge worth of products were produced, which is 0.1% higher than the level of last year. The volume of extraction of metal ores increased by 2.2%.

In the manufacturing industry in 2023 526.5 billion tons of products were produced, the industrial production index in the reporting period compared to the 2022 was 110.0%. The increase was noted in food production - by 25.7%, in mechanical engineering - by 16.5%, in metallurgical production - by 8.1%.

In the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned products (goods, services) 39.9 billion tenge were produced, the industrial production index was 105.4%. The increase was recorded in the production, transmission and distribution of electricity by 11.3%,

In water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities, products were produced by 8.6 billion tenge, which is 6.8% higher than the level of last year. The increase was noted in the collection, processing and disposal of waste; utilization (recovery) of materials by 77.3%, in the collection, processing and distribution of water by 1.6%.

Among the regions the industry of Ayagoz district occupies the largest share in terms of output (43.9% in total volume), Zharma district – 19.7%. The industry of the Semey city produced 30.3% of the regional output, Borodulikha district – 4.1%.
