The consumer price index for the region, which characterizes the level of inflation, for June 2024 compared to the previous month amounted to 100,2%.

Among food products, in June 2024, compared with May 2024, an increased in prices for potatoes – by 15,5%, carrots – by 10,6%, pears – by 3,2%, wheat bread made from premium flour - by 0,9%, confectionery products - by 0,6%, pasta products, kefir 2,5% - by 0,5%, alcoholic beverages – by 0,4%, sausages – by 0,2%, fish and seafood, tobacco products, apples– by 0,1%.
White cabbage became cheaper – by 13,7%, onions – by 10,4%, cereals – by 2,3%( pearl barley – by 3.2%, buckwheat groats– by 5%, oatmeal–by 2,3%, wheat groats – by 2,1%, semolina – by 1,6%), eggs of the 1st category – by 0,9%, beets, milk pasteurized – by 0,2%, sugar, hard cheese – by 0,1%.
Of non-food products increased the price of clothing and footwear – by 0,9% personal goods - by 0,3%, materials for maintenance and repair of residential premises, detergents and cleaning products – by 0,2%, pharmaceutical products by 0,1%.
For paid services, increased rental housing - by 0,9%, catering services – by 0,5%, education – by 0,1%.

Methodological explanations

The consumer price index (CPI), which characterizes the level of inflation, shows the change in prices for goods and services purchased by the population for personal consumption. The set of goods and services includes 508 items. Prices are registered using a selective network of trade and service enterprises of various forms of ownership in the regional center and a certain circle of cities and district centers. The system of weights used for aggregation in terms of their expenses is calculated on the basis of household survey materials for the previous year. Since January 2022, when building the CPI, the share of food products is 40,7%, non–food products – 30,2%, paid services–29,1%.
