On the sale of goods and services in Abay region

In January- March 2024, according to operational data, retail trade turnover increased by 1.9% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 109.3 billion tenge.

In the republican volume of retail turnover, the Abay region occupies the 14 thplace, the share of retail turnover in the republican volume was 2.7%.

The main volume of retail trade was provided by individuals trading in the markets and carrying out individual trading activities. Their trade turnover amounted to 76.0% of the retail turnover of the region and increased by 3.0% compared to January- March 2023.

The volume of trading enterprises increased by 27.0% compared to the corresponding period last year and amounted to 43.0% of the retail turnover of the region.

In the total volume of retail trade, 74% are non-food products, 26% are food products.

The largest volume of sales falls on the city of Semey – 83.2 billion tenge, or 76% of the turnover of the region. Ayagozsky district accounts for 5%, Zharminsky district – 4.0%, Urdzharsky district – 5% ,Borodulikha district-3%. The share of other regions ranges from 2% (Kurchatov) to 1% (Abay district) , 1% (Kokpekti district) ,2% (Beskaragai district) , 1% (Aksuat district).

The volume of wholesale trade in January- March 2024 amounted to 54.6 billion tenge, or 108.9 % compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the structure of wholesale trade, non-food products and industrial and technical products account for 63.0%, food products – 37.0%.
