Sanatorium and resort activities in the Abai region in 2023

As of January 1, 2024. There were 3 organizations of rehabilitation treatment and medical rehabilitation in the region.

By the end of 2023, the number of doctors in sanatorium-resort organizations amounted to 6 people, the average medical staff numbered 18 people. In 2022, there were 4 doctors and 13 medical staff.

A total of 1,974 people, including 1,162 women, rested in sanatoriums during the reporting period. This is 65.9% more than in the previous year, in 2022 there were 1,190 people. The average length of stay in hospitals in 2003 was 8 days

Methodological explanations

Bed-days spent - the number of permanent sanatorium beds used and the summation of the number of bed-days spent by all visitors.

Bed-day - the day when the placed bed is occupied by a person who has been treated (rested), who is on full (round-the-clock) inpatient treatment, from the day of admission and each subsequent day of stay in a sanatorium-resort organization, except for the days of discharge or transfer.
