The results of the work of the industry of the Abai region for January 2024

The result of industrial production in January 2024 was an increase in the physical volume of industrial products compared to the same indicator in 2023.

Industrial enterprises and industries produced products (goods, services) worth 192.6 billion tenge, which amounted to 5.1% of the national production volume. The index of industrial production was estimated at 106.7% compared to the level of January 2023.

In the structure of industrial production of the region, the largest share (77.3%) belongs to the mining industry and quarry development. The manufacturing industry occupies 19.9%, the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air–conditioned air – 2.5%, water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities – 0.3%.

In the mining industry and quarrying in January 2024, 149.0 billion tenge worth of products were produced, which is 3.5% higher than the level of the corresponding period last year. The volume of extraction of metal ores increased by 3.8%.

In the manufacturing industry in January 2024, 38.4 billion tons of products were produced, the industrial production index in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2023 was 112.1%. The increase was noted in food production by 23.1%, mechanical engineering by 160.4%, metallurgical production by 6.4%.

In the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned products (goods, services) for 4.7 billion tenge were produced, the industrial production index was 98.9%. The increase was recorded in the production, transmission and distribution of electricity by 5.7%.

In water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities, products were produced by 0.5 billion tenge, the industrial production index was 92.0%. The increase was noted in the collection, processing and distribution of water by 5.1%.

Among the regions of the region, the industry of Ayagoz district occupies the largest share in terms of output (63.2% in total), the industry of the Semey produced 19.0% of the regional output, Zharminsky district – 14.3%, Borodulikhinsky district – 2.9%.

The industrial production index is a relative indicator that characterizes the change in the volume of industrial production in the compared periods.
