The results of the work of the industry of the Abai region for January-December 2023

The result of industrial production in January-December 2023 was an increase in the physical volume of industrial products compared to the same indicator in 2022.

Industrial enterprises and industries produced products (goods, services) worth 1571.3 billion tenge, which amounted to 3.4% of the national production volume. The index of industrial production was estimated at 105.1% compared to the level of January-December 2022.

In the structure of industrial production of the region, the largest share (62.4%) belongs to the mining industry and quarry development. The manufacturing industry occupies 34.6%, the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air–conditioned air – 2.5%, water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities – 0.5%.

In the mining industry and quarrying in January-December 2023, 980.4 billion tenge worth of products were produced, which is 1.2% higher than the level of the corresponding period last year. The volume of extraction of metal ores increased by 1.5%.

In the manufacturing industry in January-December 2023, 543.7 billion tons of products were produced, the industrial production index in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2022 was 113.9%. The increase was noted in food production by 35.0%, mechanical engineering by 18.8%, metallurgical production by 5.6%.

In the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned products (goods, services) for 39.5 billion tenge were produced, the industrial production index was 106.3%. The increase was recorded in the production, transmission and distribution of electricity by 8.3% and supply of steam, hot water and conditioned air by 3.7%.

In water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities, products were produced by 7.6 billion tenge, which is 21.2% higher than the level of the corresponding period last year. The increase was noted in the collection, processing and disposal of waste; utilization (recovery) of materials by 96.7%.

Among the regions of the region, the industry of Ayagoz district occupies the largest share in terms of output (42.6% in total), the industry of the Semey produced 31.6% of the regional output, Zharminsky district – 19.8%, Borodulikhinsky district – 4.3%.
