The governor of the Abai region was presented with the project of a new bridge in Semey

The autogrid bridge was put into operation in 1964. Now the crossing is in a deplorable state. The current repair of the facility is carried out annually, but the situation does not change. The bridge is badly worn. It was decided to reconstruct the old ferry and make it pedestrian, and build a new bridge nearby.
A new bridge project was presented to the head of the region. Its cost was estimated at 31.3 billion tenge (the amount of the contract is 30.4 billion tenge) The length of the crossing will be 0.9 km.
The axis of the new bridge, its location in the plan and in the profile is designed with new sections of approaches and is located downstream at a distance of 28.4 m from the existing autogrid bridge. The total length of the four–lane crossing will be 1,350 m, including the length of the road approaches – 540 m, the length of the bridge - 810 m. There are also meter-wide safety lanes and two sidewalks of 2.25 meters each. Moreover, the sidewalks will be official, and an autogrid bridge will be provided for the movement of pedestrians.
It is planned to start work on the reconstruction of the bridge this year. Contractors intend to hand over the facility in 2025.
Experts voiced a number of problematic issues that need to be resolved in order to start construction work. In particular, it is planned to build a residential building within the boundaries of the branch of the autoguge bridge, but according to experts, this does not prevent the construction of the bridge.
