Nurlan Urankhayev met with members of the Public Foundation "Abraly-Degelen"

During the meeting, prospects for the development of the Abralinsky region, where about 4,000 residents now live, were discussed. The main source of the economy today is animal husbandry. One of the main tasks is not only the socio–economic development of local villages, but also the rehabilitation of the population affected by 40 years of nuclear tests.
OF "Abyraly-Degelen" was founded in 2009 by a well-known entrepreneur and public figure in Semey, Marat Kurmanbai, with the aim of social rehabilitation of the population of the Abralinsky region, located near the former Semipalatinsk landfill. To date, the foundation contributes to the elimination of the consequences and the creation of a nuclear-free world.
The head of the region listened to the wishes of the activists. According to Nurlan Urankhayev, competent specialists will be involved to determine the prospects for the development of the region for a comprehensive study and development of specific proposals.
