In the coming years, several new hospitals and polyclinics will appear in the Abai region at once

Health issues that concern our entire society are especially important. It should be emphasized that our region has sufficient human resources, since we have a medical university and three colleges that train secondary medical staff. At the same time, we have enough high-tech equipment. I visited some medical institutions in Semey and the districts. Of course, there are certain difficulties – these are outdated equipment and old buildings, but there are also large medical centers, such as an emergency hospital, which are equipped quite well," said the head of the region Abai.
To solve the shortage of personnel, preliminary agreements have been concluded with the Semey Medical University to solve short- and long-term problems with the shortage of narrow specialists, especially in the districts.
Doctors noted that two hospitals of Semey are located in buildings built in the 19th century. Most of the city's medical institutions work in adapted buildings built more than 30 years ago. Therefore, one of the main topics of the meeting was the construction of new medical facilities.
This year it is planned to start developing design and estimate documentation for the construction of an infectious diseases hospital in Semey. Among the priorities for the current year is the overhaul of the Abai district hospital and the boiler room in the hospital of the Kokpektinsky district.
In the near future, the issues of construction of a multidisciplinary children's hospital, a regional blood center, two standard polyclinics, a medical university clinic, as well as 19 outpatient clinics, 44 medical and 8 paramedic-obstetric stations in settlements throughout the region will be resolved.
