The network of institutions subordinated to the Department of Culture, Development of Languages of Physical Culture and Sports includes:
- City House of Culture;
- City Library;
- House of Friendship;
- Training Center;
- Sports club.
For 06 months of the current year, 87 events were held, including one regional event.
One of the leading directions in the cultural and leisure activities of the GDK is the holding of various celebrations dedicated to public holidays, professional holidays.
In the creative collectives of the city House of Culture there are circles of various genres: choral, choreographic, pop-vocal.
The number of creative teams in 2023 is 12, including 6 children and 6 adults. The number of participants involved in them is more than 200 people.
The city Library serves readers of all segments of the population and age categories.
The total book fund as of June 01 , 2023 is - 33623 of them in the state language – 8545 copies

The tasks of the "House of Friendship" are to strengthen interethnic peace and harmony, the revival, preservation and development of national cultures, languages and traditions of the peoples of Kazakhstan. 3 ethno-cultural associations have been created at the House of Friendship: Kazakh, Russian, Ukrainian.
28 events were held in the House of Friendship in 2023 for 06 months.
There are 2 historical and cultural monuments on the territory of the city of Kurchatov: a monument to academician, nuclear physicist I.V.Kurchatov, located near the building of the akimat of the city of Kurchatov; a monument to the Liberator Soldier, located at the beginning of Victory Street.
Historical and cultural monuments of the city were taken into communal ownership and assigned to the state institution "Department of Housing and Communal Services, Passenger Transport and Highways of the city of Kurchatov".
The historical monuments are in satisfactory condition. 1 protective obligation has been concluded for a monument of architecture and urban planning (a monument to academician, nuclear physicist I.V.Kurchatov).
The sphere of language development
In the Language Learning Center in the 2022-2023 academic year, 6 groups, 75 students were formed to teach the state language, 2 groups, 24 students were formed to teach English.
According to the results of the courses, 50 students in teaching the state language and 15 students in teaching English received certificates.
On May 29, 2023, according to the schedule developed by the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 29 civil servants of the akim's office and independent departments passed diagnostic testing using the Kaztest system to determine the level of proficiency in the state language.
In the first half of 2023, 13 city events were held aimed at increasing the prestige of the demand for the state language, stimulating, promoting and expanding the scope of its application, with a response of 210 people.
Every year, a month is held 2 times a year in order to control the competent design of texts of visual information and advertisements in public places and control the correctness of the content of advertising during translation.
The first stage took place in the period from March 14 to April 14, 2023 under the name "Syrtka ilsen zharnama, ana tilin korlama!", the 2nd stage is planned to be held in October this year.
Within the framework of the month, explanatory work was carried out on 6 public catering places (cafes), 2 notaries, 2 pharmacies, 1 dental clinic, 1 veterinary clinic, 1 pawnshop, 1 photo salon, 5 beauty salons, 87 shops.
During the monitoring, 10 violations of Article 21 of the Law "On Languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan" were revealed. 3 of them were put in order during the monitoring in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The remaining 7 owners of private forms of ownership have been given time to settle violations.
Sport
The network of sports institutions in the city of Kurchatov is represented by a children's and youth sports school, a sports club.
Currently, there are 34 sports facilities in the city: 12 sports halls (including 4 halls in the Youth Sports School), 5 sports fields, 3 sports fields, 4 hockey courts, 3 multifunctional playgrounds, 3 gyms, 3 workout sites have been installed around the city.
To attract young people and residents of the city to mass sports, there is a Sports club in the city, in which there are 8 sports sections in different directions: basketball, judo, ice hockey, football, Kazakh kuresi, zhekpe-zhek; taekwon-do, volleyball
In 2023, according to the calendar plan, about 105 city sports and mass events are planned. To date, more than 40 mass sports events have been held.
The sphere of onomastics
To date, there are 18 streets and one Tauelsizdik square in the city. The work on regulating the onomastic space is being carried out systematically, but not in full force.
In general, 7 ideologically outdated streets have been renamed in the city.
To date, the onomastics working group is working to review the proposals received from residents.
