Matches are the price of one life!

Matches are the price of one life!

Children under five are twice as likely to die in a fire as we adults. Every year, thousands of children are injured or killed in house fires, most of them children under the age of five.

When it comes to the smallest members of the family, remember: love alone will not save them. They will be saved by applying fire safety measures. Therefore, in order to help protect babies and toddlers from the destructive fire, the emergency Department of the Zharma district provides this important information to parents and people who care for children:

1. Matches, lighters and other sources of fire are the leading cause of fire death in children under five years of age. I must say that kids themselves cause a large number of house fires by playing with lighters and matches. Children have a natural curiosity about fire, and we should not underestimate their ability to strike a match or light a lighter;

2. Keep matches and lighters out of the reach of children, preferably in a locked drawer.

3. Teach your kids to tell you when they find a match or lighter.

4. Never use matches or lighters for entertainment. Children can start imitating you.

5. Teach kids not to hide from firefighters. Fire uniforms can frighten children in a critical situation. Explain to children that firefighters come to help in a dangerous situation.

Dear citizens, be vigilant, observe fire safety rules, take care of yourself and your loved ones.
