Tips for using electrical appliances at home

With the state of emergency continuing, all family members are at home. We all use household electrical appliances and often put our phones on charge along with other devices. In this regard, the Ochs of the Zharma district reminds about the rules of fire safety in everyday life.

Prevention of fires and fire from electric lighting and household electric heating devices. The main cause of a fire from electricity is a short circuit, overload in the network. To prevent this from happening, the wiring should be kept in good condition, and to prevent fire in the event of a short circuit and overload in the network (including several electrical appliances at once), the switchboard must necessarily have factory-calibrated fuses.

If you turn on a homemade fuse made of thick wire – a "Bug" - in the power grid, it will not melt when a short circuit occurs. Therefore, the "protection" will not work, and the network will be left under current. In this case, the wires are heated to melting, the insulation ignites, sparks and fire will pass to the surrounding combustible items and a fire will occur.

This is why you should always use factory-made fuses only. A short circuit can also occur in the electrical wiring. Therefore, it must be in good condition.

A fire can also occur from an electric light bulb, whose tungsten filament emits a lot of heat when heated. To avoid this, electric lamps should not touch paper and cloth lampshades.

Often a fire occurs from household electrical appliances, although they are factory-made and quite serviceable. If a large number of such devices are connected to the power grid at the same time, this will cause overload and overheating of the electrical wires. The insulation will ignite and the fire along the wires will spread to various objects. A fire can also occur from a single electric heating device (iron, kettle, heater, etc.) if it is used incorrectly.

This is why it is strictly forbidden to leave devices connected to the network unattended or to entrust the supervision of them to young children. The device must not be placed on combustible items, as well as turn them on near curtains, curtains, wooden partitions and other easily flammable items.
