In modern economic conditions, the issue of high-quality training of future specialists in the exploration industry is most acute. Semey Geological Exploration College has been training employees for various enterprises of the mineral resources industry for 90 years.

KGKP "Geological Exploration College" of the Department of Education of the Abai region was founded in 1931.

The College provides training in 5 specialties:

0701000 "Geological survey, prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits"

0702000 "Technology and technique of exploration of mineral deposits"

0703000 "Hydrogeology and engineering geology"

0704000 "Geophysical methods of prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits"

1514000 "Ecology and rational use of natural resources in the field of subsoil use"

The College cooperates with leading national and international companies located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and carrying out work in the geological and oil and gas industry. The college is working on the introduction of experimental curricula for the training of specialists in English in geological specialties. To date, more than 250 enterprises, including 54 foreign companies, provide places for internships and employment of graduates, help in deepening vocational training.

On October 19, 2022, there is a meeting of the college management headed by Director Adilzhanov Ardak Adilgazievich and representatives of the company "Barlau-Qazaqstan" LLP. This event is held in order to implement the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the interaction of the industrial sector and educational institutions.The main issues of the meeting are:

Selection of college students for specialized training in working with geophysical equipment in Deganvi (Great Britain).The training is conducted on the basis of Robertson Geo. It consists in the fact that there is a private well that can be used for practical training in a controlled environment. In the future, the selected students will be accepted into the staff of "Barlau-Qazaqstan" LLP.
