Since the beginning of the year, cases of uncontrolled leaving of cooking food on the stove have already been registered in the Ayagoz district.
According to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses", these cases are punishable by an administrative fine.
Cooking at home is one of the daily activities in the life of every person. And even such daily activities can have tragic consequences if basic fire safety rules are not followed.
The main reason for food catching fire on the stove is ordinary human negligence. Alcohol consumption also plays an important role in such cases - a drunk person can simply forget that he started cooking or heating food. They put a saucepan or frying pan on the stove and forget about it: they fall asleep from fatigue or intoxication, and sometimes even leave the house. Often, having put food on the stove, a person may go to the grocery store to buy the missing product, hoping that nothing will happen to the food being cooked.
When food burns, a specific smell appears. Smoke appears, which does not always spread beyond the apartment. The temperature around the hot cookware increases. Food in a saucepan or oil in a frying pan can catch fire. High temperatures can cause flammable materials to catch fire, such as a nearby cabinet, hanging curtains or lying oven mitts. Plastic products, such as saucepan handles or a cutting board, begin to melt. Plastic will emit toxic substances. Milk will simply boil over the edges of the cookware, as a result of which the fire may go out. If no one turns off the gas, a gas leak may occur.
To avoid such incidents, which can end tragically, we all need to remember that a turned on stove cannot be left unattended. If you are tired, take a rest and only after resting start cooking. There should be no flammable materials or objects near the stove. It is useful to have a fire blanket or a fire extinguisher on hand in the kitchen, which is suitable for extinguishing burning oil.
