Large-scale construction of educational institutions has begun in the Abay region as part of the National Pilot Project "Comfortable School".
The plans include the creation of 11 schools designed for 5,700 student places. In 2023, construction of five schools has already begun: one will open its doors in September, another in October, and the remaining three will be ready by the end of 2024.
Next year also promises to be eventful - the construction of six more schools will begin.
According to the Abay Regional Education Department, not only new schools, but also extensions to existing educational institutions are included in the ambitious development plan.
The Construction Department has developed documentation for the construction of six extensions, which will add 2,200 places in the region's schools.
Construction work has already begun on two projects, two have received all the necessary expert opinions, and two more are at the stage of undergoing examination.
Small schools have not been ignored either. For six such schools, designed for 510 places, comprehensive non-departmental examination opinions have already been received.
Project financing is provided from the education infrastructure support fund, according to the Comprehensive Development Plan for the Abay Region for 2023-2027.
The project of KAZ Minerals, which has begun construction of a secondary school for 1,200 students in the Zarya microdistrict of Semey, will be significant.
The school is expected to open its doors to students in September 2024, and today the facility is 90% complete.
