Over 103 thousand marriages are registered in Kazakhstan

On May 15, the world celebrates the International Day of Families, established by the UN. For this date, “Government for Citizens” prepared special statistics.

Over 10 months, the State Corporation registered more than 103 thousand marriages, including 40 thousand new families that have appeared since the beginning of 2024.

The leaders in the number of weddings are Almaty, Astana and Shymkent.

Also, since July 2023, the birth of 328 thousand new citizens of the country has been registered.

Now “Government for Citizens” conducts ceremonial registrations of marriages in Astana, Karaganda, Almaty and Kostanay and plans to introduce this service in other cities.

In addition, there are plans to introduce ceremonial registration of the birth of a child. Negotiations are already underway with medical institutions in Astana about the delivery of birth certificates and handing them over to parents directly in maternity hospitals. If the pilot project in the capital turns out to be in demand, it will be scaled up.

Let us recall that the functions of civil registration were transferred to the “Government for Citizens” on July 1, 2023.
