Rules of conduct on ice

Every year on rivers and lakes, fishermen, children playing on the ice and people who wanted to take a shortcut go under the ice.

It is advisable not to walk on ice at all. But if you still decide to go on the ice, follow the following rules:

do not step on thin ice;
do not go down the hill onto the ice on a sled;
do not come close to the ice where there are holes and cracks;
do not gather in a group on the ice;
do not walk in prohibited areas;
don't break the ice.

Before stepping on the ice, make sure it is thick. The thickness of the ice is checked on foot. Thin ice breaks after 2-3 hits.

When walking in a group, keep a distance of 5-6 meters from each other. The lightest person should go first, with life-saving equipment (for example, a life jacket).

If you go fishing, follow these rules:

do not punch too many holes nearby;
each hole must be marked so that it does not become covered with snow at night;
always have a strong rope 12-15 meters long on hand;
Don't go out fishing.

If you fall through the ice, don’t panic, don’t be afraid, spread your arms wide, this will give you the opportunity to stay on the surface. Call for help. The resulting air between your body and things will keep you afloat for some time. Lean your chest on the edge of the ice, try to crawl onto solid ice and crawl to the shore.
