Instructions for preventing children from falling out of windows.

Falling out of a window is one of the main causes of child injuries and deaths, especially in cities. Children are very vulnerable to an open window because of their natural curiosity. To avoid an accident related to a child falling out of a window, it is necessary to adhere to the following rules:
- When opening the windows in the apartment and ventilating the room, make sure that the child is under supervision.
- If possible, open the windows (panes) from above, not from below.
- Install blockers (special latches) on the windows so that the child cannot open the window on his own.
- Do not allow the child to go out on the balcony without an adult.
- Never leave a sleeping child alone in the apartment. The baby can wake up and climb on the window sill of an open window.
- Move all furniture, including beds, away from windows. This will help prevent the baby from accidentally falling on the windowsill.
- Do not show the child how the window opens. The later he learns to open the window on his own, the safer his stay in the apartment will be.
- Do not teach the child to put a chair or other device under his feet to look out the window or look into the street from the balcony. Subsequently, acting in this way, he may lean out too much and fall out of the window (from the balcony).
Mosquito nets are a great danger:
- The child sees some obstacle ahead, confidently leans on it, and as a result may fall out together with the grid, which is not designed for the weight of even the tiniest one-year-old baby.
- If a 5-7-year-old child is afraid to stay alone in the apartment, do not leave him even for a short time. Often, feeling fear, children look out of the window or from the balcony, hoping to see their parents, which may cause them to fall from the balcony.
Let's keep children healthy together!
