Prime Minister A. Mamin held a meeting on protecting the population from coronavirus

Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting on preventing the spread of coronavirus and preventive measures in Kazakhstan.

Minister of Health E. Birtanov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development B. Atamkulov, Minister of Culture and Sports A. Raiymkulova, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sh.Nuryshev, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Kazakhstan Zh.Bekshin, Director of the Border Service KNB RK D. Dilmanov, as well as the leadership of the Almaty and East Kazakhstan regions.

“President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev instructed to take decisive organizational measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus from China in Kazakhstan,” A. Mamin said.

Following the meeting, the Head of Government instructed to take the following set of preventive measures:

Strengthen sanitary-epidemiological and migration control at checkpoints on the state border, including at air, road and rail transport facilities.
Establish medical supervision of all persons arriving from the PRC at their place of residence.
Ensure the readiness of medical institutions to provide the necessary assistance to the population in the event of a worsening epidemiological situation.
Restrict travel to China on business trips, and also recommend refraining from travel for private and tourist purposes.
Suspend the 72-hour visa-free stay on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for transit passengers from the PRC.
Temporarily suspend the work of the Kazakhstani part of the Khorgos ICBC.
To intensify work with Kazakh citizens in the territory of the PRC in order to provide them with consular and other assistance.
State bodies to organize the necessary interaction with the relevant government agencies of the PRC and other interested countries in order to coordinate actions to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
If necessary, ensure the emergency evacuation of Kazakh students and other citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan located in Wuhan, China.
Create an interdepartmental commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister B. Saparbayev, which is tasked with preparing an action plan to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Kazakhstan.
