On the extension of the term for acceptance and replacement of banknotes with denominations 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 tenge, sample of 2006

The National Bank extended the period for accepting and replacing banknotes with denominations of 2000, 5000 and 10000 tenge of the 2006 sample until February 1, 2021.

“We made this decision because we received appeals from the population. Some citizens, mostly elderly people of retirement age, for one reason or another did not manage to exchange old banknotes in time, ”said Zhomart Kazhmuratov, director of the cash circulation department of the NBK.

The exchange is carried out for individuals exclusively in the branches of the National Bank. Their addresses and contacts are available on the website of the National Bank. After February 1, 2021, the replacement of these banknotes will not be possible.

Recall that the exchange of banknotes with denominations of 2000, 5000, 10000 tenge of the 2006 sample lasted for four years - from October 4, 2016 to October 5, 2020.
