Long-term survival in subzero temperatures depends on the condition of housing, clothing, shoes at the time of emergencies, the availability of fuel, water and food, primarily on the moral and physical condition of a person.

With the threat of blizzards, snowstorms, severe frosts, the population is obliged:

• keep radios and televisions on at all times;
• it is necessary to have a supply of fuel, food, water, medicines;
• in houses of the private sector, close attics and ventilation openings. Sheathe large windows with boards, create a supply of feed and water for animals;

If you are caught by bad weather on the way:

• separation of the group is categorically inadmissible;
• do not neglect excess clothing;
• watch for weather changes;
• do not lay new roads, do not try to shorten the path by cutting corners;
• constantly monitor your condition, do not allow general and local hypothermia;
• rub open skin areas that are directly exposed to low temperatures and wind;
• warm frozen limbs by all available methods by rubbing, heating on the body, wide swings, etc .;
• come back immediately if you feel unwell or very tired.

Remember, preventing freezing is much easier than warming a frozen person!
