INDUSTRY

"BAST" JSC "Maksut" mining site located in Abay district, until the beginning of the year, the production capacity of ore processed in the mineral processing complex was 400 thousand tons. However, according to the order No. 09-P dated February 21, 2024 of the President of JSC "BAST" S. E. Ryaskov, the enterprise stopped working due to the failure of the grinding mill and the decrease in the quality of the equipment.

On January 23, the akim of the district held a meeting with representatives of "BAST" JSC on the reasons for the temporary stoppage of the work of the "Maksut" mine, the breakdown of its equipment, and future work plans.

The meeting discussed the plan of works to be carried out in the future on the construction of a new mine enrichment copper production complex. If the new complex is built, the production capacity will reach 2.5 million tons per year. The planned start-up period is in the first half of 2027, the cost of the project is 71 billion tenge.

Starting from October 2023, mining of precious metals and rare metal ores of "METALL MINING" LLP is working in Arhat rural district. The actual design capacity is 300,000 tons of ore per year.

In the field of road and highway construction, "Derikar" LLP, an enterprise producing 1.5 tons of Bh II grade asphalt concrete mixture and crushed stone 5-10, 10-20 products with a physical capacity of 1.5 tons per day is working in our district.
