Nauryz Meiramy at KAFU Higher College

Nauryz Meiramy is a holiday of spring awakening and renewal, this is one of the most beloved and large-scale holidays in Kazakhstan.

On March 17, 2023, Higher College of Kazakh-American Free University hosted Nauryz Meiramy - a wonderful and spring warm holiday of meeting spring according to the eastern calendar: with yurts, festive dastarkhans with traditional food (nauryz-kozhe, pilau, koumiss, baursaks, shubat and etc.) for students and guests of the holiday.

The regional event for TVE students was opened with the rites Alastau and Shashu, then girls and boys - students of Higher College of KAFU - in elegant national costumes performed an incendiary dance Kara zhorga, charging all participants with a cheerful and joyful mood.

The Head of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region Innesa A. Chernysheva welcomed and congratulated the participants. In the foyer of the college there was an exhibition of applied arts of students, invited grandmothers showed their wool spinning skills to the guests. A ritual of tying a ribbon to a dream tree was held with the wish of a successful start of the year. During the holiday, national songs sounded, dances were performed, the intellectual game “Kazakh khalkynyn salt-dasturleri”, sports competitions among college students, such as arm wrestling, weight lifting, Togyzkumalak game, sports relay race “Funny Starts” took place.
