In April 2022, 83.5 thousand units of motor vehicles1) were registered, compared to the corresponding period of last year, the indicator decreased by 0.4%, including trucks – by 18.7%, buses – by 29.1%, while the number of passenger cars increased by 1.5%.
Thus, as of May 1, 2022, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 4357.6 thousand units, of which 87,8% - light vehicles, 10.4% - trucks and 1,8% - buses.By production year, cars produced 20 years ago predominate in the motor pool of light vehicles – 50.3%, the share of vehicles aged from 10 to 20 years – 21.1%, from 7 to 10 years – 14.5%, from 3 to 7 years – 6.4% and only 7.6% of cars have a service life of less than 3-x years old. The share of cars with a production year of more than 20 years among trucks is 60.8%, for buses – 42.2%.
The most cars are registered in Almaty region2) – 534.7 thousand units, Almaty city – 508.7 thousand and Karaganda region2) – 310 thousand, less in Atyrau region – 116.9 thousand.Light vehicles mainly use gasoline as fuel (87.8%), 8% of vehicles use mixed fuel3). 48.7% of trucks are fueled with diesel, the rest with gasoline (45.9%) and mixed fuel3) (2.2%). 1) According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.2) The data was obtained before the division of the region.3) Mixed fuel – gasoline, gas-cylinder and electric fuel.
